Secrets of Target's Clearance Items

So some people know that I like to shop at Target. Not because I think that i'm above Wal-Mart shoppers. I actually like Wal-Mart. When it comes to prices, Wal-Mart definately is cheaper. Expecially when it comes to food. But why does a cheapskate like me shop at Target? Because of its clearance items.
Target always has items on clearance. They are usually located in the back of the isles. The end caps to be precise.
There's usually clearance items on basically everything in the store. Clearance items don't necessarily mean that the items are bad or expired, they usually mean that they are items that Target has decided not to sell anymore so they need to get rid of all remaining items quick. Seasonal items like school supples and holiday products usually go on clearance immediately after the holiday.
The clearance percentages usually goes like this.
15, 30, 50, then 75% off.
They usually adjust the clearance percentage every 1-2 weeks. Once an item gets to 50% off, it's almost always bought by someone, so if you're a loser like me, you find the clearance item you'd like when it's 30% off, hide it somewhere in the store, and come back in a month and it should be 75% off. You can check the price using the self price check scanner Target has all over the store. Though if you wait too long, I just learned this today, but if you hide your clearance items for too long then the price when you scan them will be $0.00 which is great but when you go and actually try to buy them, the register computer tells the employee to enter the price of the product since it can't find one itself. And then employee will just enter the price displayed on the clearance sticker when you first decided to hide it.
I know I know that hiding clearance items is totally frowned upon, hopefully not illegal, but it does save you money. Paying $5 for a video game or $1.50 for 12 AA batteries is always a good feeling.
Here's a website for a more detailed explanation.
So to recap:
1. Shop Target's clearance items.
2. Find the items you want.
3. Hide them under shelves or behind rarely bought items.
4. Come back in a couple of weeks and find you hidden treasures.
5. Buy them at a steep discount.
6. Be happy.
